This company was run successfully for 21 years until he started up the company Amara Engineering Ltd in 2005 with his son Barry.
Barry commenced in the industry in 1995 working hands-on on site learning the trade of plumber/fitter until such time that he took up the role of Contracts Manager and furthered his career by studying Building Services Engineering at DIT Bolton Street, receiving distinctions and continuing on to study his MSc in Building Services Engineering at London South Bank University.
In 2005 he joined forces with James and together they set up Amara Engineering and take responsibility for contracts management, supervision and procurement on large scale housing and apartment schemes, offices and schools to name a few. He also focused on growing a large portfolio of maintenance contracts for apartment complexes, hotels, schools, offices, etc., which prides itself on its prompt response and call out times.
Barry was also responsible for the integration of cloud computing programs with our onsite operatives mobile devices, enabling access to all information such as drawings, specifications and details relating to our active projects at the touch of a button, increasing efficiency and reducing time spent on site which regularly results in project completions ahead of program.
This partnership infused the energy and enthusiasm of the young with the experience of the old.
